REDLYNCH EQUESTRIAN PARK FACILITIES

 
The REP provides a safe, quality facility for members to ride, train and agist their horses. See the REA Code of Conduct for more information about general use of the grounds, safety, agistment, hire of grounds etc. 

The REP facilities are available for use by members on a daily basis: 

Summer(Sept to April):  7:00am – 6:30pm
Winter(May to August):  7:30am – 6:00pm weekdays
7:00am – 6:00pm weekends

The facilities include:

  • Fenced Sand Arena 60m x 20 m with a 1.2m high fence
  • Unfenced Sand Arena 70m x 30m
  • Round Yard 20m diameter
  • 12 x Covered Horse Stalls
  • Level Grassed Riding Area approx 1.5ha
  • Fenced Shaded Children’s Playground
  • Private Toilet Facilities
  • 4 x three horse agistment paddocks (multi-owners)
  • 4 x single (strip) agistment paddocks (max 2 horses with one owner)


The estimated value of the facilities is approximately $350,000. The facilities have been established through funding and in kind assistance from Cairns City Council (and the former Mulgrave Shire Council) revenue raised by membership and agistment fees, State Government grants and personal contribution of members.

Agistment
Agistment facilities are available to financial REA members and is provided on a “first in” basis. Members can apply for agistment and will be added to a waiting list.

Single membership enables a member to apply to agist one horst and family membership enables a member to apply to agist two horses.

An Agistment Application Form must be completed and submitted to the Committee for approval.

Agistment Fees are set by the Committee. This fee covers lease costs, rates, insurance, maintenance, water etc. They may be increased at any time and four weeks written notice will be provided. A refundable bond equal to four weeks agistment fee is also required.

Hire of Grounds
The REP is available for hire for equestrian activities such as dressage competitions, training days, clinics, shows etc. The organisation hiring the REP must ensure all insurance and safety measures are in place. These requirements are listed on the Hire of Grounds Acknowledgement and Indemnity Form which must be completed and submitted to the REA Committee for approval. 

REA members will be notified of the dates of hire. Areas not in use for the event may be used by non-participating REA members.

Riding Lessons at the REP
